Learning Spanish - How to Learn Vocabulary

First let’s begin by learning our 700 useful Spanish words. Then we can begin to get familiar with the whole 7,000. This does not mean that we must learn them by heart but only when we see them we will recognize them as something we have seen before and we will know they are Spanish words, maybe in the beginning we will not remember exactly the meaning but the first stage does not require you to know all the words by heart as this will only happen automatically as you use them. We also need to be able to “hear them” and know what they sound like.

Language has to be used or you forget it, it is only through repeated use that we learn and retain the ability to speak any language and Spanish is no different. The first step is to learn the top 700, then once we have achieved that you can get familiar with the other 6,300 that will make up the total to approximately 7,000 words. The more you know the more you can use and the more you use the more you will know.
