Guadalmina Golf is a golfing resort located close to the village of
San Pedro de Alcantara and approximately 13 kilometres from the heart of
Marbella. There is a
four star hotel located at the resort as well as a range of private villas,
townhouses and apartments. This is a very upmarket and peaceful location which
is conveniently situated to venture out to all of the major attractions that the
Marbella area has to offer.
Main Tourist Attractions
Guadalmina Golf is predominantly focused on the game of golf. It has two
wonderful 18 hole courses and a 9 hole practice course. There is also pitch and
putt, tennis and swimming available. The hotel at Guadalmina Golf has a spa and
wellness centre where you can be pampered and receive treatments from massages
to Turkish Baths. Venturing out to San Pedro de Alcantara, you will find
attractions such as an ancient Roman bath house and a necropolis with over 200
ancient tombs. Here you will also find some beautiful beaches with water sports
such as sailing, surfing and jet skiing available. Marbella has a range of
attractions including Funny Beach which is perfect for the children. They can
enjoy activities such as boat trips, go-karting, arcade games and trampolining.
Puerto Banus also has a multiplex cinema showing films in several languages.
Shopping Opportunities
Shopping opportunities are limited within the Guadalmina Golf resort but it is
within walking distance of the shopping centre located in the village of
Guadalmina. Here you will find many items to buy including shoes, leather goods,
toys, souvenirs, pottery, embroidered linen and clothing. Puerto Banus has a
commercial shopping centre and many designer outlets located along the marina.
Marbella has the La Canada shopping centre and the famous
Golden Mile, with its
expensive and upmarket boutiques. San Pedro has some small family run businesses
and holds a street market on a Thursday every week.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are a few restaurants located in the Guadalmina Golf Club and the four
star hotel for residents and visitors to enjoy. They serve a range of dishes
from the traditional Spanish fare to international cuisine from the likes of
Britain, France and Italy. Guadalmina village has many cafés, bars and
restaurants located along the promenade area of the village. The village of
Benahavis, which is renowned for its number of eateries, is a 10 kilometre
journey north and is definitely worth a visit.
Due to the fact that the focus of the resort is rest and relaxation, there are
no clubs or discos to be found at Guadalmina Golf. Puerto Banus has a range of
bars and discos which provide live music, shoes and karaoke. Similarly a trip
into Marbella has a many clubs which are open until the early hours of the
morning.
